We are seeking a Design and Development Engineer to lead the design, prototyping, and industrialization of innovative footwear products. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between creative design, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, ensuring that all products meet design intent, quality standards, cost targets, and production timelines.

What You'll Do

Develop new concepts from sketch to production-ready design.

Translate design briefs into functional, manufacturable 3D CAD models, patterns, and specifications.

Select appropriate materials, components, and construction methods for performance, comfort, and durability.

Collaborate closely with industrial designers and biomechanics experts to optimize ergonomics and fit.

Support prototyping, testing, and validation (comfort, wear, and mechanical testing).

Work with in-house and external factories to define tooling, molding, and assembly processes.

Conduct design-for-manufacture (DFM) reviews and resolve technical issues during pilot builds.

Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation — BOMs, technical drawings, SOPs, and process specs.

Monitor pre-production and production runs to ensure consistency and quality.

Identify and qualify suppliers for materials, soles, fabrics, and hardware components.

Manage supplier communications, sample approvals, and cost negotiations.

Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely material delivery and inventory control.

Evaluate suppliers based on quality, lead time, and sustainability standards.
Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

1–7 years of experience in footwear design and development, preferably with exposure to both athletic and lifestyle categories.

Strong knowledge of materials, lasts, molds, injection processes, and upper construction techniques.

Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and PLM systems.

Experience working with Asian or European footwear manufacturers and suppliers.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Strong understanding of costing, procurement, and quality control principles.
